人口わずか8万5千人のセーシェル。マダガスカルの北方にある115の島々からなる国。
GDPはわずか6億ドル。全部つぎ込んでもいまどき炭鉱ひとつ買えない金額です。


この楽園に中国軍が軍事基地を建設することになりました。
かつては英国の殖民地だったところですが、独立して35年、こんどは中国にフラフラッとなっちゃったんですね。


島は小さくても領海はけっこうな広さなので、この島にカネと人をつぎ込んで中国の属国にしてしまえば、アフリカ沖のインド洋に中国の拠点ができて中国軍の威信は大いに高まり、魚も取り放題だぜ。


いまどきの話ですから、セーシェルを軍事占領するわけにはいきません。
ソマリア沖の海賊を取り締まることを口実に、セーシェル側から

「どうか中国軍さん、セーシェルに基地をつくって、来てちょうだい」

と言わせちゃったんです。


12月1日にセーシェルに中国の梁光烈国防大臣ら軍の代表団が来て、12月2日にセーシェルの外務大臣が正式に 「セーシェル領内に中国軍の基地をつくり、海賊取締りに協力するよう」 要請を出しました。


20年計画で中国人が大量に移民すれば、人口8万5千人の国なんか簡単に乗っ取れるのでは？

こうなると、「イギリス領のままでいたほうが幸せだった」 とセーシェル原住民が気がつく日も近い？
